To “Defend the High Ground” Refers To maintaining a position of power or advantage. Last years resurgence of Shock Football saw Shock recapturing the Programs 4 title in 5 years. The Battle River Shock Football Club will once again be be asked to defend their Crown this 2026 season.

Capital District Minor Football Association). The majority of our practices are held in Lacombe, Alberta. Our team is not meant to replace the fall programs, rather we’re here to compliment them. Our goal is to develop young football athletes in Central Alberta.
Our team is made up of athletes currently in grades 9 to 11 from the Battle River School District and beyond. We welcome those who live along the Battle River i.e.: from communities such as Rocky Mountain House, Sylvan Lake, Pigeon Lake, Wetaskiwin, Blackfalds, Maskwacis, Lacombe, Ponoka, Gwynne, Leduc, Hay Lakes, Camrose, Round Hill, Halkirk, Stettler, Bawlf, New Norway, Viking, Sedgewick, Blackfalds, Sylvan Lake and Red Deer.

The combine/ID camp kicks off on Saturday January 24th.
Open to all athletes currently in grades 9 to 11.
Cost for the tryouts is $250.

Doors open at 5:30pm, Dinner is at 6:30pm, Program is at 7;30pm
Tickets are $40 presale, And $50 at the door.

Double Practice Day, Parent Meeting March 16/2025
At LAPA , Shock practice from 1:00 to 3;00pm a break
then practice again from 4:00 to 6:00pm . there will be
a parent meeting in the upper room at 2:45 pm .
